“Hundreds of millions of doses” of vaccines will be produced and distributed in the US every month
President Donald Trump said Friday that everyone in the United States will receive a dose of the coronavirus vaccine by April next year.
“Hundreds of millions of doses will be produced every month, and we expect all Americans to have the vaccine by April,” Trump said at a news conference.
He said distribution of the vaccine will begin within 24 hours after approval from federal health authorities is obtained.
“In the near future, we will have a safe and effective vaccine, and we will defeat the virus,” Trump promised.
The president had previously said the vaccine could be approved in October – an ambitious timeline that some experts say is hardly realistic.
