The relationship between Russia and the US remains tense. Recently, hacker attacks have put a strain on the relationship, and Russian diplomats are now to leave the United States at the request of the US government.
According to Russian information, the USA does not want to extend the visas of 24 diplomats and thus force them to leave the country. The US government has asked the diplomats to leave by September 3, reported the Russian news agency TASS on Monday, citing Ambassador Anatoly Antonov.
US President Joe Biden met his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin in Geneva for the first time in June, but this did not herald a turnaround in the tense relations between the two states. Most recently, Biden blamed Russia for cyber attacks in the United States.
