Sarkozy and Olsen argue about a million dollar villa

Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy have been married for five years. In the spring it becomes known that the former actress wants to divorce the French ex-presidential half-brother by express entry. Now the former couple is apparently in the middle of the war of the roses.

In May it becomes public that Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy want to divorce. However, this does not seem to be going on in a good way. At least when it comes to the division of common property, there is disagreement. As the British “Daily Mail” now reports, neither of them wants to do without the mansion in New York’s Manhattan district.

The former actress and today’s fashion designer and the half-brother of France’s ex-President Nicolas Sarkozy bought the 8,000 square meter and $ 13.5 million house together in 2014. So it belongs equally to both. According to the Daily Mail, it is likely that 34-year-old Olsen and the 17-year-old banker will sell the luxury property. The dispute is to continue in court on December 15.

Ex-wife trigger for divorce?

The reasons for the divorce of the couple, who had been in a relationship since 2012 and married three years later, are not yet known. Most recently, however, it was said that Sarkozy had put his ex-wife Charlotte Bernard in one of the couple’s houses, ultimately triggering the separation from Olsen. He didn’t really fit in with the stuff. “That was the drop that broke the barrel for Mary-Kate,” an insider allegedly described. Sarkozy was married to Bernard for 14 years, the couple had two children and separated in 2011.

Mary-Kate Olsen, who became known alongside her twin sister Ashley with the 80s sitcom “Full House”, then even filed for divorce by urgent petition. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this was initially not accepted and processed by the New York court, as it was not an emergency. Therefore, Olsen wanted to get an emergency resolution to go ahead with the divorce.

Until 2011, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were among the top-earning young actors in Hollywood. But then they withdrew from the film business. Since then, both have concentrated on their activities in the fashion industry.
