Xiaomi is preparing two versions of the set-top box Mi TV Stick with Android TV 9.0
Junior will not support 4K
A month ago, Xiaomi showed an Android TV set-top box called Mi TV Stick. Then there were rumors that the device is based on the SoC Amlogic S905 Y2 and will cost $ 80.
Despite the fact that the Mi TV Stick has not yet been announced, its unpacking has already appeared on the Web, and at the same time the characteristics have become known. As you can see, the TV set-top box in terms of size turned out to be comparable to the size of large flash drives.
The kit also has a remote control, cable and power supply. But with the parameters, everything is not so simple. According to the source, Xiaomi will actually show two versions of the Mi TV Stick.
The younger one is based on some kind of quad-core platform with Cortex-A53 and GPU Mali-450 cores, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of eMMC memory, Bluetooth 4.2, Android TV 9.0 and Full HD resolution support. This version has already appeared on Aliexpress for $ 50.
The older version has a platform and 4K support. It is based on the Amlogic S905Y2, contains 2 GB of RAM, the same 8 GB of flash memory and runs on the same Android TV 9.0. On Gearbest, such a prefix is offered for $ 133, but this is hardly a real price. The previous rumors about $ 80 are more likely to be true. Both versions also have HDMI 2.0a, while the younger one has Micro-USB, while the older one has USB-C.
